Gary Roberts has supplied these formations of first generation DMU’s allocated
to Swansea Landore and Cardiff Canton depots as of August 1987. This is to
compliment the “Valley Lines
Day Ranger” article. The information was extracted from the enthusiast
press of the period.
At this point there were only a few Class 108's allocated to the area. But many
more were to follow in the coming months, mainly to replace asbestos
contaminated Class 101's on the Central Wales line. Many of the Derby units
were transferred from either Neville Hill or Hull Botanic Gardens.
