Class 101 DMBS passes Halbeath Crossing (beside Dunfermline Townhill depot) on 23 July 1979, probably on an Edinburgh Waverley - Cowdenbeath service. Brian Daniels.

Class 101 DMU at Dundee depot

26th September 1980

Set number: 195

Freshly painted Class 101 DMBS SC51251 in Dundee depot on 26 September 1980, its date of refurbishment was the 20th of that month. It carries set number 195 in white. Note the row of overhauled engines between the tracks and the Class 122 to the left. Brian Daniels.

A Class 101 DMU at Arbroath. The vehicle numbers look like they could be 51251 + 59043 (with a window boarded in the middle saloon) + 50148 which was Dundee set 323. The slide process date was August 1981. Stuart Mackay Collection.

A Class 101 and 120 formation at Stirling in September 1986. The leading set is 101323, formed of only one 101 (51251) and two 120s (59580 and 51587). The rear unit is a three-car Class 101. Graeme Phillips Collection.

Date: 5th March 1978

Looking like an overhaul and repaint in BR Blue had been recently completed, Dundee allocated Class 101 DMBS SC51251 is stabled at the Glasgow end of Eastfield MPD on the 5th March 1978. Only ever allocated to Scottish depots whilst in BR service she would be dragged all the way down to Snailwell, in Cambridgshire, where she was scrapped in late 1987. Bob Woolnough.

A mixed 101 (possibly 51251)/ 107 (59801) set prepares to leave Johnstone station in 1985. The "T" sign indicates the end of a PW slack, possibly due to work in connection with the electrification of the line. The overgrown area beyond was formerly a quite extensive siding area - now redeveloped for housing. Andrew McConnell.
