Class 104 DMU at Manchester Piccadilly

A Birmingham R.C.&W. three-car DMU at Manchester Piccadilly circa 1966. The Motor Brake Second closest could be M50452. A Yellow Diamond Derby Lightweight is on the left. Gordon Edgar Collection.

Class 104 DMU at Johnstone

Unknown date

Set number: 104450

104 450 enters Johnstone. The DMBS is a 104 (presumably 53452), but the centre car seems to be a 107, and the DMC is a 101! And there are at least another four vehicles behind. Undated. Andrew McConnell.

Class 104 DMU at Glasgow Central

circa 1986

Set number: 104450

A three-car DMU arrives into Glasgow Central circa 1986. The Class 104 DMBS leading is likely 53452, the other two vehicles are Class 107s. Mike Bunker.

The vehicle is mentioned in the following images:

Blackpool North was a frequent haunt for Class 104s. In the station when this shot was taken on the 3rd August 1979 were 50524 + 59183 + 50475, 50504 + 59160 + 50452, 50477 + 59185 + 50529 and 50517 + 59173 + 50465. Robert Frise.

Ayr Variety. DMBS M53461 (104 452) + TBS E59225 + DMBS M53452 (104 450). Triple brake Class 104 lash up stabled at Kyle Street Sidings with two Set identities! Probably made up of vehicles scavenged from south of the border after the fire at Ayr Depot. January 1984. alicia hartman.

Ayr Variety. BRCW Class 104 triple at Glasgow Central High Level Platfrom 11, having arrived on a working from Ayr. This is probably DMBS M53452 (104 450) + TBS E59225 + DMBS M53461 (104 452) seen previously at Ayr Kyle Street. Most of the vehicles drafted in after the Ayr Depot fire had seen better days elsewhere. The station roof needs some attention. The good old days!? Tuesday 24 January 1984. alicia hartman.
