A Swindon 79xxx series six-car set at Ayr in January 1958. 79098 + 79479 + 79095 / 79158 + 79474 + 79106 spent three weeks running timing trials between Glasgow St Enoch and Girvan in preparation for the 5xxxx series Swindon sets that would be introduced there the following year.
