101 694 descends the gradient between Thorntonhall and Busby as it approaches the latter while working the 08:55 East Kilbride-Glasgow Central on 16th July 1998. John Horne.

Old and new pass at Busby on 16th July 1998. 101 695 (51226 leading 51499) is running as ECS from East Kilbride, having finished its limited diagram, so will not stop at the station. 156 514 had to wait for the 101 to pass as the line beyond Busby is single track apart from a loop between Hairmyres and East Kilbride. By coincidence both units are the highest numbered SPT units of their class. John Horne.

101 693 on the 18:05 Barrhead-Glasgow Central on 22nd July 1998. It has just passed Busby Junction and will shortly arrive at Pollokshaws West. John Horne.
