Set 101363 at Stirling on 23/05/1984. Car numbers are 53144 + 59049 + 53746. The leading car unusually retains the central marker lights (top and bottom) and the top one even looks like it might be switched on, though there is no glass lens - both these central lights were usually removed upon refurbishment. A five-car formation of Met-Camm vehicles departs westbound from York with a service for Bradford Interchange in the mid/late 1980s. The leading vehicle - 53151 - still carries its East Anglian set number 97. It had been transferred from Norwich to HT in May 1985, then to NL in the first half of May 1986. Newcastle Central station pilot locomotive, class 03 No.03063, is captured framed between 'Peak' 45139 and Metro-Cammell DMU No.E53156 on 23rd May 1985. The class 03 was delivered new as D2063 on 14th July 1959 to York (50A) depot and subsequently worked from Stourton, Bradford Hammerton Street, York, Hull Botanic Gardens and Gateshead depots during its career. It was withdrawn on 26th November 1987 and is now preserved on the North Norfolk Railway. Gordon Edgar.
