A Class 104 set in Birmingham New Street beside a Derby Lightweight on December 16, 1957. M50458, at the front, was just a few weeks old and allocated to 5D (Stoke). Michael Mensing.

Hessle Road, Hull in Oct 1962, when a Class 104 (59226 closest) ‘split’ a set of wrongly clamped points. The photographer said: “Within hours the mess was cleaned up and normal working soon resumed, today it would be a ‘scene of crime’ and the job stopped for a week”! Received via Ian Fleming. Set: BX457

A Class 104 at Longsight depot in March 1974. Embellished with a white dome and red buffer beam, it still retains an old style destination blind with Manchester London Road (it had been renamed to Piccadilly 10 years before). It also carries a set number in the cab number - 457 - possibly BX457. John McIntyre.
