Pontypridd Station, 02/75, with two BR (Derby) Suburban 3-car dmu's (Class 116), with No.C310 in the lead, on a Trehebert - Cardiff - Barry Island service. Although this station, built by the TVR in 1840, consisted of one (very large) island platform, it somehow contrived to have no less than 7 platform faces, making it the longest on the GWR. Freshly painted W50843 in Cardiff Central with a Valleys service on 18 September 1976. It has a refurbished date of 27 August but its centre car 59355 was not completed till 10 September which is probably why it still looks so fresh. Robert Thomas.
