Hereford Station, 05/75, on the GWR/LNWR Joint "Welsh Marches Line" (or Border Route) between Newport and Shrewsbury. The station was also a junction with the Great Western lines to Three Cocks Junction (and hence Brecon) (now closed), Worcester (and eventually Paddington) and Ross-on-Wye (now closed). In the platforms show a Crewe - Cardiff Class 120 dmu and a Hereford - Paddington express. Hugh Llewelyn.

A busy scene at Maiden Newton on 3 May 1975. A Class 120 and 119 (B572) are in the closest platform while many participants of the Southern Electric Group 'Dorset Dawdler' tour wait to board W55033 and Class 117 set B407 (51387 + 59497 + 51345) for a trip on the Bridport branch. An Aberdeen - Inverness service between Kennethmont and Gartley at 12:40 on Monday 19 May 1975. Formed of three three-car Class 120s, the middle set contains two brake vehicles (a DMBC and DMBF). Three of the brake vehicles in the train are DMBF conversions, and all four brake vehicles have tablet catchers. The centre car in the closest set has no red stripe - the others are too far to tell, none of the three have 'Buffet' lettering. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Two Class 120 DMUs seen between Kennethmont and Insch on 19 May 1975. The centre car on the leading set has no buffet markings, the one in the rear set has a red band along the length of the whole vehicle. The rear set has two brake vehicles - a DMBF and a DMBC, and all three brakes on the train have tablet catchers. John Horne Collection.

BR (Swindon) Cross Country 2-car dmu (Class 120) No.C604 in BR Rail Blue & Grey with all yellow front end, at Milford Haven having arrived from Cardiff (General) and awaiting return to Swansea (High St), 07/75. The wooden station was built by the Milford Jct. Railway in 1863, which joined the South Wales Railway. This station was demolished some time ago. Hugh Llewelyn.
