Evening shadows at the original GWR station at Stourbridge Town on July 5th 1977, as Class 122 Single Unit M55012 was against the block awaiting the return journey along the steeply-graded 0.8 mile branch to Stourbridge Junction. The station still retained its BR 1950's enamel Western Region platform nameboard. Martyn Hilbert.

A number of the Class 122 "Bubble Cars" were converted for departmental use. TDB975310 was one such example, being renumbered from 55010 in 1972. It is seen here in an unusual khaki-coloured livery at Doncaster on 15th December 1977. The unit was eventually scrapped in June 1984. The photograph was taken on a Kodak Instamatic 25 camera and is scanned from a Kodak 126 negative. Syd Young.

1958 built Class 122 DMBS SC55015 entered service in 1958 and was converted to a Class 131 MPV during September 1971. In this image taken on the 22nd September 1978 she is stabled for the weekend at Haymarket MPD, Edinburgh attached to a 3 Car Class 101 DMU. The 'Parcels Use Only' branding is visible but not readable low down on the far left bodyside of the vehicle. Following use as a driver training vehicle from September 1983 until July 1989 she was withdrawn from service and scrapped at MC Metals, Glasgow during July 1990. Bob Woolnough.

A Class 122 in Stourbridge Town station on 29/5/78. It was decided to demolish this lovely old station and replace it with a bus shelter. A new platform is being constructed and the line will be shortened! Stephen Burdett.
