Class 101 Driving Motor Brake Second E53250 was bringing up the rear of a six-car Leeds to Morecambe service at Skipton on May 6th 1989. E53250 was coupled to Class 108 Driving Car E53644. The middle set being a Class 108 with the retro BR green liveried Class 108 53964/54247 at the front of the train. A faded-looking Chiltern Railways Class 121 Sandite/Route Learner W977873/960014 (ex 55022) was stabled alongside Aylesbury station on September 9th 2012. The unit was one of sixteen single units built for BR by Pressed Steel in 1960. W977873 has passed into preservation at the Southall Railway Centre. Martyn Hilbert.
In happy days when Selby was on the ECML and Deltics still roamed freely, a Swindon built 'Inter-City' Class 123 Motor Brake Second (MBS) E52087 was bringing-up the rear of a Manchester Piccadilly to Hull service, awaiting departure from Selby on September 12th 1981. The former Western Region car had become part of a Class 123/124 'Transpennine' set allocated to Hull Botanic Gardens. The full four-car formation being E52087 (123), E59767 (124), E59765 (124) & E51964 (124). Martyn Hilbert.
