The Chairman said that a joint report from the Officers of the L.M. and E.
Regions is still awaited, and Mr.Gould said they are still waiting for the E.R. to call
a meeting. Chairman will speak to the Assistant General Manager of the Eastern
Region.
309. ROYAL SHOW, NOTTINGHAM. JULY 5/8TH.
Noted that the possibility of running a diesel service between Derby and
Nottingham for the Royal Show is under consideration.
310. AUTOMATIC COUPLER.
Noted that B.T.C. have made representations regarding customs duty.
Mr.Stanley to follow up with the board of Trade, making it clear that B.T.C. have made
representations to M.O.T. and also that as a result of the tests with the Dutch
coupler, it is hoped to produce automatic couplers in this country.
