385. SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE ARRANGEMENTS

(a) Minutes of meeting of Sub-Committee of 19.10.55. - Noted.

(b) Derby, Nottingham, Leicester Scheme

In connection with the servicing and maintenance arrangements for this scheme, the Committee inspected various M.P. and C.&W. depots in the area :-

  (i) Derby M.P.S.  Being a round shed is not suitable for diesel maintenance.

 (ii) Derby, Etches Park.  Sub-Committee to consider use of this depot having regard to the fact that a new carriage shed is to be built on the site.

(iii) Leicester M.P.S.  Being a round shed is not suitable for diesel maintenance.

 (iv) Nottingham, Low Level Station.  Not now in use as a passenger station and Sub-Committee to consider use for diesel maintenance.

386. CAMBRIDGE SCHEME

Noted - the joint report from L.M. and E.R. Officers not yet received and Chairman will speak to Assistant General Manager of Eastern Region.

387. NOTTINGHAM AREA SCHEME. (E.R.)

Noted - that joint report from L.M. and E.R. Officers not yet received, and Chairman will speak to Assistant General Manager of Eastern Region.

388. BURY - BACUP SCHEME

(a) Maintenance facilities.

Noted that all is ready for commencement of service.

(b) Delivery of Units

Mr.Stanley said that Metro-Cammell are unable to give definite dates of delivery of units owing to delay in delivery of fuel tanks from B.U.T.  Mr.Stanley is closely watching the position and it was agreed that the new service should commence on 6th February 1956.
