(a) Maximum trailing load.

Mr. Gould said that so far as West Cumberland is concerned, the average weight to be conveyed per diesel parcels vehicle would not be more that 2 tons for either motor or trailer. The Chief Operating Superintendent is in communication with the Chief Mechanical & Electrical Engineer regarding parcels traffic on the Birmingham Part 2 and Liverpool - St.Helens - Wigan schemes.

The Chairman referred to the experiment which is to be made with 165 H.P. engines and asked for this to be borne in mind in connection with the provision of diesel parcels vans.

Mr. Read suggested that the possibility be investigated of evolving a light weight parcels van for haulage by diesel units and it was agreed that this would be considered by Messrs. Gould and Stanley.
