Class 114

These units were built for the ER Lincoln area services. All but 50049 were built with two Leyland 150hp engines. These proved underpowered in service and so 50049 was delivered fitted with two of the then new Albion 230hp engines. Soon after, the rest of the power cars were re-engined with the new engines.

Vehicles 50000/56000 which shared the same body design as the 114s are dealt with on their own pages.

In 1987 the remaining sets were transferred to Tyseley where they covered a lot of new ground. Several sets had been converted to Parcels cars, these were all withdrawn by the end of 1990. The passenger fleet was gradually run down, until the last car was withdrawn in June 1992.
