Waggon und Maschinenbau railbus

Supplied by the German builder Waggon und Maschinenbau, G.m.b.H., of Donauworth, the underframe and power equipment, transmission and brake gear was generally similar to the Uerdingen type of railbus, at which time there was around 700 vehicles in service on the German Federal Railway. Wherever possible standard production components were used to aid supply of spares.

The cars worked mainly on the ER, although there was a small period on the LMR. They were withdrawn by 1967.

Details about the preserved vehicles can be found here.
