August 1968 - platforms 6, 5 and 4 at Halifax. A BRCW 3-car dmu is on platform 4 forming one of the hourly Leeds-Manchester Victoria trains. Use of this platform by the Manchester trains only took place on a Saturday to aid management on how best to rationalise the station layout in the future. Mr Deltic.

26th March 1977

On March 26, 1977, a three-car Met-Camm/BRC&W hybrid is seen leading a three-car BRC&W set into Halifax station with a Southport service. Michael Mensing.

51446 still carries its Canton set number when seen at Halifax on 21/3/89. It was now a Neville Hill vehicle, with a short spell at Bristol in between. John Carter.
