17th September 1980

A Cravens diesel multiple unit prepares to depart for Windemere at a desolate Kendal station on the Windemere branch from Oxenholme to Windermere on 17th September 1980. The building is very neglected and the Up platform is abandoned. Pete LG99.

The bleak, almost monochrome Kendal station witnesses the arrival of a Windermere to Oxenholme class 108 DMU on 28 April 1986. The station building is now in private hands, the canopy long-gone. Kevin Lane Collection.
