Askam station on the Cumbrian Coast Line & a Class 108 dmu bound for Barrow-in-Furness, May 8th, 1976. The steam in the distance is from LNER A3 Pacific 4472 Flying Scotsman & B1 4-6-0 1306 heading our train north on a Special to Ravenglass & Sellafield. Pete LG99.
A Class 108 DMU is seen calling at Askam, Cumbria, around 1980, with a service that is probably heading for Millom. Having the large headcode box, the front vehicle at least is likely to be allocated to Chester or a Manchester depot, as opposed to Carlisle Kingmoor (KD), whilst the rear set appears to be Class 105, another type not allocated to KD.
