This shown one of the modified vehicles with the centre passenger section replaced by extra van space. More interesting though is that despite modification and refurbishment, the tablet catcher remains fitted. Despite my extensive travels throughout the UK in the 1970s this was the first time I had seen this unit and I was very surprised to cop it this far north. I have since travelled in it at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway in it's restored guise as M79900. Alistair Ness.
