A Class 108 at Ilkley on 16 April 1979. I bought one of these lovely tangerine totems at auction in 2002 - I wonder if it might be this one? Alistair Ness.

A Class 108 DMU waits departure for Ilkley from the very rundown Bradford station on 17/4/79. At this time only 2 platforms out of 8 were in use, although the situation has altered in recent years with electrification. The other part of the station was used for parcels. A Met-Camm unit is in the shadows on the right. Stephen Burdett.

A Class 108 DMBS and DTCL and a suburban set on the right freshly painted into refurbished livery in Swindon Works. The slide had a process date of June 1979, the Class 108 DMBS appears to be M51420 - it and M51424 had a refurbished date of 25/5/79 and were the last two Class 108 DMBSs to be painted in this livery at Swindon. Having arrived from Wrexham, a class 108 2-Car DMU stands in the Liverpool bound platform at Bidston awaiting turnaround on May 22nd 1979. The guard is walking up the platform with the tail lamp. The leading car is M51562, a Driving Motor Composite Lavatory, it was the 1,000th vehicle to be constructed at Derby Works, emerging new in 1959. After withdrawal it was claimed for the National Collection by the NRM. Martyn Hilbert.

In the refurbished white with blue stripe livery, Class 108 Derby Lightweight Driving Motor Brake Second (DMBS) M51903 was stabled between duties in the former carriage depot at Llandudno Junction, keeping company with some Metro-Cammell Class 101's on May 26th 1979. Martyn Hilbert.
