A Derby Heavyweight set arrives at Stainforth & Hatfield Station in South Yorkshire on 19th April 1976. This station was of MSLR/Great Central Railway origin and located on the four track main line just west of Thorne Junction. The GCR signal box is Stainforth Junction. Pete LG99.

This is Skegness station on Thursday 5th August 1976. If my notes from the day are accurate then this Class 114 DMU comprised DTCL No. 56032 (nearest the camera) and DMBS No. 50022, built at BR's Derby Works and new in 1957. The presence of the tail light suggests that the train has recently arrived at the seaside terminus. Tom Harper.
30th August 1976
A blue 2-car Class 114 diesel multiple unit is passing the platforms of Doncaster St James' station with a train from Sheffield on the ex-MS&LR/Great Central line on 30th August 1976. This photo was taken looking south from near St James' Road bridge. St James' station, which consisted of a single island platform, was built by the LNER in 1933 to serve excursion traffic. It never had a regular timetabled service and did not appear in timetables, only in "Special Traffic Notices" when it was to be used. The disused platforms survived until the late 1990s. Pete LG99.

This badly composed original slide - perhaps rushed due to the photographer realising its rarity - shows the unusual sight of a Class 114 DMU at Durham, apparently heading north towards Newcastle on the early evening of Sunday 26/10/1976. A two-car Derby built DMU (Class 114) leaves Lincoln St Marks in 1977. John Law.
