White on black, fabric blind, marked on the reverse: C AO 9528 ITEM1 (this is the drawing number). North East England, probably 1970s. The last indication, EXPRESS, stands on its own, and was used by the peak hour trains between Newcastle and Whitley Bay via the main line and the south to east curve at Benton. The destinations are almost in alphabetic order, but not quite.
