Destination Blinds

London - Eastern Region - circa late 1970s

This appears to be an amalgam of the Finsbury Park destinations and the Stratford destinations on one blind. The GN area destinations are largely the same as listed on the Finsbury Park blind and the older Hornsey blind, minus the more far-flung locations you would more expect a Cambridge allocated unit to work, but the GE destinations are much reduced compared with the Stratford blinds already listed. The class 125s were transferred away from SF when the Chingford and Enfield lines were electrified, moving to peak hour services from King's Cross but they did occasionally reappear on the Great Eastern up until withdrawal so would have made use of the destinations required for the lines which were still diesel worked.

It is all capitals, white lettering on black background on canvas. Fairly heavily used with fraying down the edge, Broad Street, King's Cross, Finsbury Park, Welwyn Garden City and Hertford North are the most faded so definitely used on the GN, though Woolwich, Stratford and Tottenham Hale have also been used.

The destinations following Hertford North would be all that was required on the GE out of Stratford by the late 70s following electrification of lines, leaving just the ones listed operated by DMUs with Liverpool Street included for any services which were extended into the terminus.
