(b) Mr.Adkinson said that both units and spares were again out of service. It was stated that the continual failures of the units on this branch are causing unfavourable publicity and the Chairman asked for the departments concerned to give a full report on the working of the branch by these diesel units with recommendations as to the future.

(c) Halt at Gaston Lane. Deferred to next meeting

(b) C.O.S's request for additional 2-car unit considered. Mr.Gould said that the need for additional units on the Birmingham Part 1 scheme was much more urgent than the Bury-Bacup, and it was agreed that the latter scheme proceed as at present until one 2-car unit can be supplied from Derby, possibly towards the end of May.

(c) Stop at Irwell Vale.  Deferred to next meeting.
