Details

Last Day No.17. Cravens 105 373 crosses the viaduct over the River Gryffe at Bridge of Weir. It is heading east towards the station on the 14:01 Kilmacolm - Glasgow Central service. An old notebook suggests this was DMBS E50384 (nearest) + DMBS E51301 + DTSL E56464. The girder bridge crosses a minor road to the then children's home at Quarriers Village. There was a tannery on the other side of the viaduct which is long gone. However, leather manufacture still exists in Bridge of Weir at a modern facility on the other side of town by the Locher Water. Saturday 08 January 1983.
