Departmental vehicles 975664 975637 (formerly cars 51122 56300) are seen in bay platform 2 (now a car park) in Lincoln Central during August 1986. This was the Eastern Region's 'Stourton Saloon', re-liveried by Ilford depot in 1985 in the two-tone blue scheme then being applied to the Provincial Sector's new railbuses (Classes 142 / 143). Brightening-up an overcast Winter day, the Eastern Region General Managers saloon formed of a Gloucester Class 100 DMU, was stood at Doncaster on February 13th 1987. The set was formed of cars 975664 (ex E51122) & 975637 (E56300), and it was the only First Generation DMU to be painted in Provincial Services 'Sprinter' livery as applied to the Class 150/1 fleet when new. Unfortunately the set was scrapped in 1990. Martyn Hilbert.
