Class 110 DMU at York

By the mid-1980s, York station was looking rather tired and desperately in need of some tender loving care, but it is evident that the matter was in hand in this 5th June 1985 scene of 'Calder Valley' Class 110 DMU 52082-52072 departing for Harrogate and Leeds. Gordon Edgar.

Class 114 DMU at York

17th February 1986

A Class 114 DMU formed of 54025 + 53038 in platform 12 at York on 17 February 1986. It is thought to have worked the 08.42 ex Leeds via Harrogate, arriving in York at 10.01, and likely to return the same way as the 11.05 departure. 'Harrogate' was displayed on the blinds to save any confusion for the passengers with the more direct route between Leeds & York. Rob Paterson.

Class 110 DMU at York

26th July 1986

Built by Birmingham RC&W Co, the Rolls-Royce engined Class 110s were a common sight in the bay platforms at York through the 1970s and 1980s. On Saturday 26/07/1986, this formation has recently arrived from Leeds via Harrogate. Graeme Phillips Collection.
