The Way it Was. Unidentified Class 126 DMU about to fly through Hillington East station en route to Glasgow Central from the Ayrshire coast. The headcode box on the non-drivers side of the DMSL has been blanked off. This may have been for some time - see Michael Laing picture on Railcar, possibly the same vehicle in BR blue days. Uncollated negative, so at a guess possibly autumn 1980. alicia hartman.

A fantastic line up of Swindon DMUs at Ayr with numerous Class 126s and a stray Class 120. Undated, the 120 is probably an ex-Inverness set which dates it to 1980 or 1981. The sets in the bay platform will be on services to Glasgow Central, the units behind the wall on the right are in Kyle Street sidings. Stuart Mackay Collection.
