Traction Bulletins - Introduction

These were an occasional publication that were mainly issued to drivers and covered topics related to the traction they were driving, such as modifications and reminders about proper driving techniques.

London Midland Region — BR 30059/2

These pages have been supplied by Graham Baker, issued to him during his time at Bletchley TMD. While the documents covered many traction types, only the DMU parts are shown, and DMUs were not mentioned in every issue.

Western Region — BR 33067

After the initial issue, each bulletin contained a cover sheet and a revised index covering the new, and all previous, items.

Every so often the issue numbers would reset, carrying forward the information still relevant, as a means of reducing the paperwork a driver was expected to carry on duty.

The cover of the binder that was issued for the bulletins is shown, this measured 8½" x 5½" and the bulletin pages were 8" x 5".

As with the LMR issues above, they covered many traction types, only the relevant DMU parts are included here, and DMUs were not mentioned in every issue.
