Class 101 set L204 (presumably 51220 + 54371) has a Class 104 DMS attached to the rear when seen working the 18:41 Paddington - Bourne End at Ealing Broadway on September 8, 1987. Michael Mensing.

Met-Camm set L204 (51220 closest, presumably with 54371) arrives into Southall station behind a Class 121 bubble car circa October 1987. Stuart Mackay Collection.

This formation - 54371, 51220, 51905 and 54488 - arrived at Sheffield on 14/7/88 from the Doncaster direction (led by 54488 & 51905). Judging by the condition of the NSE DMU's It seems that they are ex-works and heading back to their home depot OOC. Wilson Adams.

Class 101 two-car set L04 (presumably 51220 + 54371) seen at Hinksey South, looking north-west from Abingdon Road bridge, the train heading away from Oxford. Date unknown, the NSE livery looks fresh so possibly circa mid-to-late 1988. Ian Docwra.

I quite often used to have an afternoon at Kings Sutton in the late 1980s and early 1990s when there was an impressive variety of different types of trains to photograph. This picture of NSE Class 101 L204 (51220 + 54371) was taken on 8 May 1989 (from the roadbridge with a 150mm lens) as the unit worked a peak hours Didcot to Banbury service. Peter Tandy.
