Class 108 53970, set number N602 presumably with 54264, is seen stabled at Tyseley on 16.07.1988. It was allocated to Newton Heath at the time and was probably down to use the wheel lathe. Andy Cole.
On a cold Winter evening, a Class 108 two-car DMU formed of DMBS M53970 & DTSL M56264 was stood in platform 6 at Preston with a Barrow-In-Furness service on February 18th 1989. The 108's were once synonomous with the Cumbrian Coast route, a large allocation being once based at Carlisle that had bars fitted over the door droplights due to restricted clearances on the Maryport to Carlisle section of the route. Martyn Hilbert.
