55034 as at the head of a triple bubble formation, the cab of 55033 is adjacent. At Blythe Bridge on a Crewe - Derby working in 1989. Simon Barnes.
Class 121 T014/55034 arrives at Worcester Shrub Hill at 12.55 on the 23rd November 1989 working from Barnt Green to Worcester Foregate Street via Shrub Hill. Dave Gommersall.
T014 (55034) arrives at Droitwich Spa at 12.30 on the 13th February 1990 working from Barnt Green to Worcester Foregate Street. Note the remains of the once rail connected coal yard, with just the resident shunter (known as the 'Sheriff'), bits of track and plenty of lifted sleepers remaining. Dave Gommersall.
On the 25th July 1990 55034 has now moved to Worcester Tunnel Junction and I include this photo to show that the 'calling on' signal is down. The DMU needs to pass the signal in order for the points to change before it returns either to Worcester Shrub Hill or Foregate Street. It is almost certainly going to work the next train to Barnt Green. Dave Gommersall.
The points show that DMU 'bubble' car 55034 (T014, which has been renumbered since late 1989) has just left Worcester Depot and waits for permission to proceed to Worcester Tunnel Junction. Notice nothing else is stabled on the depot and also you can see some of the old features of Worcester from steam days, though the OWW brick shed behind the water tower on the left had been dismantled in 1989. Dave Gommersall.
Class 121 M55034 at Bewdley on the Severn Valley Railway on October 14, 1990. John Carter.
55034/T014 makes its booked stop at Bromsgrove Station at 13.30 on the 12th December 1990. It was working 2M94, the 13.01 Worcester Foregate Street to Barnt Green, and running slightly late! Dave Gommersall.
Class 121 T014 / 55034 stops at Worcester Shrub Hill about 12.50 on the 7th May 1991 working the 10.48 Cardiff Central to Birmingham New Street and about 20 minutes late! It was hoped not too many passengers wanted to crowd onto the single bubble car!! Class 116 set C392 with driver is waiting to follow T014 into platform 1. There are two parcel vans in the bay platform ready for loading. Dave Gommersall.
T014 / 55034 stops in platform 2 at Worcester Shrub Hill at 14.40 on the 7th May 1991 working the 14.00 Birmingham New Street to Cardiff Central. Unsurprisingly the bubble car seems well loaded!! My notes say this working was booked for a Sprinter! Dave Gommersall.
55034 at Stourbridge Junction having arrived with the 12:05 from Stourbridge Town, 7/6/91. Gazza Prescott.
Class 121 55034 standing in platform 1 of Stratford-upon-Avon in the summer of 1991. Judging by the direction of the sun the unit would have formed the 14.10 to Leamington Spa. Peter Tandy.
Class 121 "Bubblecar" T014 (M55034) seen at Leamington Spa station in early 1992. Bob Belcher.
Leamington Spa, 1992. An unusual combination of two Class 121 single units (with T014 (55034) at the rear, closest) and a Class 101/116 twin unit having arrived on a service from Birmingham. Bob Belcher.
T014 / 55034 stands in the centre road at Worcester Shrub Hill at 15.15 on the 21st May 1992. The indicator shows it may have been on the Stourbridge Junction to Stourbridge Town trips. Dave Gommersall.
Class 121 DMU 55034 passing through Barnetby station on 3 June 1992. Keith Miller.
55034 working with T038 (presumably 51808 + 53838) at Hereford, providing extra capacity on the 15:30 ex-Birmingham New St., 13/6/92. Gazza Prescott.
By 10 August 1992 single unit DMUs were not an everyday sight on the inadequate 2 hourly trains between Leamington Spa and Stratford-upon-Avon so it was worth a walk to the station when 55034 + 55032 were working the 17.05 to Leamington. This shot was taken just as the units were leaving the station and not long after resignalling had meant that a shunt from platform 1, historically the arrivals platform, to P2 was no longer necessary. The rust on the then little used tracks on P2 can been clearly seen. Peter Tandy.
Class 121 55034 in Attenborough station sometime in 1993. Andrew Walker.
