Derby Lightweight production in full swing in Derby C&W Works (although the scene is hardly a hive of activity. The one identifiable vehicle is E79261 on the right, delivered to Norwich in August 1955. Not all are new vehicles, the lined vehicle on the left is a West Riding car, probably in for rectification. 7th November 1967

A Derby Lightweight DMU is seen in the sidings at Cambridge on 7 November 1967. Closest is DTCL E79261, withdrawn a few weeks earlier after spending all of its short twelve year career allocated to Norwich depot. It seems to be coupled to E79043 rather than its regular partner E79045, all three were withdrawn on the same date - 10 September 1967. Stuart Mackay Collection.
