The London Midland Region didn't publish trailer car details until late in 1968. Although not 100% reliable, if it is assumed that the trailers remained with the same power cars, the allocations for 79146 during the unknown period are:
11/02/56 | New to | 3E (Monument Lane)
Jun-58 | Transferred to | 8E (Northwich)
Oct-59 | Transferred to | Reddish
09/09/63 | Depot code change | 9C
4w/e 04/03/67 | Transferred to | 12B (Carlisle Upperby) |
Then the allocations for 79666 are:
Jun-67 | Withdrawn |
Scrapped by EW Payne, on location at Bletchley depot
79146 | 79666 | As delivered to 3E - 11th February 1956

79186 | 79666 | Noted 01/08/66 - on Bletchley-Cambridge services1

The image is of 46501 with an engineers saloon but added as images of DMUs on Reddish Car Shops are rare, and Derby Lightweight trailer M79666 is seen to the right. Date unknown, it was allocated to the depot from 1959 to 1967, and this was probably circa 1965. Harvey Scowcroft / Nigel Valentine Collection.
