82B | (WR) | 1948 | to | 13/06/64 |
The depot had 156 different vehicles allocated to it of types Class 116, Class 118, Class 119, Class 120, Class 121, Class 122, Blue Pullman.
It had a DMU allocation from July 1958 to circa June 1964.
It was also know by its GWR code BMJ. At some point, exactly when is unclear, the allocation was transferred to Bath Road. The June 1962 Modern Railways (p426) noted that all the units in "the Bristol Division, which covers services ranging as far as Taunton, Weymouth and Westbury, are based on the Marsh Junction depot, although their underframes carry the 82A depot plates of Bristol Bath Road".
The steam shed closed on the 13th June 1964 and seemed to mark the end of the use of the 82B code. Vehicles transferred to the Bristol Division began to be published as 82A rather than Marsh Jct in 1964, so I've used the June 1964 date as the end of the Marsh Junction allocation until further evidence surfaces.
Stabling and cleaning (and maintenance?) of DMUs would continue at Marsh Junction until 14/01/85 when new facilities at Bath Road were completed.
