The depot had 344 different vehicles allocated to it of types Class 100, Class 101, Class 104, Class 105, Class 108, Class 109, Class 111, Class 114, Class 120, Class 128, Derby Lightweight, Met-Camm Lightweight, W&M Railbus.

Cambridge would receive Cravens, Wickhams and WM railbuses in 1958, and Derby Lightweights in 1959. The arrival of GRC&W twins in 1968 allowed the Derby Lightweights to be replaced. In May 1970 the remaining DMU allocation moved to Norwich. Some Met-Camms arrived in 1977, the numbers would increase year by year, by 1988 it was a hub for Parcel and the ER departmental vehicles which lasted till 1990. The remaining passenger sets left in 1992, the final departmental set in January 1993.
