The depot had 262 different vehicles allocated to it of types Class 100, Class 101, Class 105, Class 107, Class 111, Class 122.
DMUs were allocated to Dundee West between 1958 and 1983. Sets would work the lines to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Arbroath, Tayport and St Andrews.

The depot had 8 bays, during his time at the depot from 1978 to 1980 Joe Logue notes that Bays 1-4 were used by the fitters, 5-6 by the cleaners, and 7-8 for breakdowns (comment on this image).
