A Western Region depot until January 1963 when boundary changes saw it come under LMR control, the WR depot code was retained until September. Early set numbers used the depot's GWR shed code as a prefix, 'TYS'. Then the set numbers appeared in the cab windows on a white sheet displaying only digits in black. This changed to a black board in the window with a TY prefix, later changing to a TS prefix. In the later years the set number appeared on the cab front under the drivers window with a T prefix.
