19th October 1974 - I braved the torrential rain to take this shot of the Midland Railway's Gloucester Eastgate station looking south with a dmu in the platform. The other end of the covered footbridge joining the two Gloucester stations is in the right background. The goods lines to left have already been lifted. I was waiting for a Southwest to Northeast Class 47-hauled train to take me back to Birmingham. The whole site today is a supermarket. What a surprise!
