Details

Damage to 53967 at Carnforth Midland Bottom End yard in 1988. It and 54250 had collided with an engineers wagon on the Up Furness earlier in the year, this is the No 1 bogie (cab end), the buckling suggests this would have been the rearmost (fourth) bogie in the direction of travel, yet still collided with sufficient force to cause considerable damage to the steel bogie frame.
