E50543 + E59224 + E50548 at Darlington on 24/9/80. An ex-South Gosforth BRCW Class 104 during it's short life at Darlington. The 2 northern bay platforms at Darlington, by then just used by Darlington to Bishop Auckland trains, were done away with, one infilled for car parking and the other by the realignment of the down line out of Platform 4. The Bishop Auckland service was extended as through workings to and from Saltburn (or Whitby). The 08 in the background is 08004, the short little bay that the 08 often stood in between station pilot duties is long gone now too.
