On 3 August 1982 I travelled to Huddersfield with the aim of making a journey over the Clayton West branch. On arrival at Huddersfield this 2-car Class 101 unit (51504/51434) was stabled in the centre road, and this formed my train to Clayton West, the 12.10 from Huddersfield. The Clayton West branch closed just 4 months after my visit, on 24 January 1983.
