A Class 101 4-car refurbished liveried diesel multiple unit sets off after its brief stop at Thorne North station heading for Goole & Hull, on 30th August 1976. The line from Thorne Junction on the Great Central Doncaster to Grimsby line to Straddlethorpe Junction on the Leeds to Hull line was opened in 1869 by the North Eastern Railway. Thorne North is the first station & Goole is the second and only other station on this section.
