Having handed over the single-line token the signalman returns to the box at Midge Hall, as Class 108 M51901 accelerates onwards with the 13.09 Preston to Ormskirk service on July 25th 1985. To the right is the severed former up line, taken out of use between Midge Hall and Farington Curve Junction in 1983.
