The last Class 101 DMU vehicles in service were concentrated around the Manchester area in their final years, including some that retained their full Scottish liveries while working services out of Manchester Piccadilly. Here, an example in Strathclyde Transport livery calls at Grindleford on the Hope Valley route, on 28/04/2001.
