Most photographs of the erstwhile Haltwhistle-Alston branch show Alston itself or Haltwhistle, so this example from Lambley is unusual. Here, on 09/08/1975, with less than a year until closure, a Class 101 DMU departs from the station and is about to head north over the viaduct with 1625 Alston-Haltwhistle.
