Details

Class 108 ' Derby Lightweight' set CH274 (DMBS) M53964 and (DTCL) M54247, formerly a Cumbrian Coast regular since the late-1960s and based from Kingmoor diesel TMD. Repainted into British Railways green livery in the mid-1980s, upon closure of Kingmoor depot in May 1988, most of the Class 108s were transferred to Heaton depot for continued use in Cumbria, but this set was one of a batch transferred to Chester depot for a short while, before being transferred to Heaton around the spring of 1989, again returning to Cumbrian Coast diagrams. By this photograph of 28th May 1991 it was spreading its wings further afield, being noted at Huddersfield.
