With a London Kings Cross to Cleethorpes service in the platform, a Derby Etches Park allocated Swindon Class 120 3-Car DMU was being readied for service in the centre carriage siding at Lincoln St Marks on April 21st 1981. The nearest car was Driving Motor Brake Composite W50734, with Driving Motor Second Lavatory M50671 at the opposite end of the unit. The station at Lincoln St Marks closed on May 13th 1985 and the station site is now part of a shopping centre.
