A Marylebone-bound class 115 DMU calls at Gerrards Cross in May 1980. The line was opened in 1906, a joint venture built by the Great Western & Great Central Railways. The line through here was rebuilt towards the end of the 1980s and became double track, with the platform extended over the two right-hand lines.
